Coco coir Cocopeat Grow Bag Slab

Almighty Coir is a leading cocopeat grow slab manufacturer in India, supplying high-quality grow bag slabs for commercial hydroponic and greenhouse cultivation. Made entirely from triple-washed cocopeat and compressed at a 5:1 ratio, each slab delivers consistent water retention, optimal aeration, and a chemically neutral rooting environment that lets growers control nutrition from day one.
Unlike standard grow bags, our slab-type design lies flat in greenhouse channels and troughs, making it the preferred format for high-density crops like tomatoes, capsicum, cucumbers, and strawberries in professional poly houses and vertical farms worldwide.
Available in Grade AC-3A with Low EC and Standard EC options, our coco grow bag slabs meet the exacting demands of European, North American, and Australian greenhouse operators who require proven substrate performance and reliable bulk supply.

Key Advantages

Triple-Washed Low EC Cocopeat

Our cocopeat is washed three times to reduce natural salt content to below 0.5 mS/cm, giving growers complete control over their nutrient programme from transplant to harvest.

Customisable Dimensions & EC Grade

From compact 50 cm × 15 cm slabs for strawberry gutter systems to full 120 cm × 20 cm slabs for tomato trenches, every dimension and EC level can be matched to your specific greenhouse infrastructure.

Superior Water Retention & Drainage

The unique fibrous structure of washed cocopeat holds water efficiently while draining excess moisture quickly — preventing root suffocation and maintaining the air-to-water ratio optimal for high-yield crops.

UV-Stabilized Packaging with Planting Holes

Each slab is sealed in a UV-stabilized polybag that protects against light degradation and algae growth. Optional pre-cut planting holes allow instant transplanting without extra cutting.

Stable pH 5.5–6.8 for All Major Crops

The natural pH of our washed cocopeat falls within the ideal range for hydroponic vegetables and soft fruits, eliminating the need for pH correction during substrate preparation.

Consistent Compression at 5:1 Ratio

Our slabs are compressed at a precise 5:1 ratio using calibrated hydraulic machinery, ensuring every unit hydrates to the exact volume specification — no surprises in the greenhouse.

Disease-Free Sterile Substrate

Almighty Coir grow bag slabs are naturally free of pathogens and weed seeds. The processing and UV-stabilized packaging ensure the substrate reaches your greenhouse in a sterile, ready-to-plant condition.

Eco-Friendly & Reusable

Made from 100% natural coconut husk, our grow bag slabs are biodegradable and can often be reused for a second growing cycle before composting — reducing substrate costs per crop cycle.

Manufacturing Process

Raw Material Selection

Only mature coconut husks from trusted farms are selected. Immature or contaminated material is rejected at intake inspection.

Triple-Wash to Reduce EC

The cocopeat is washed three times with fresh water to reduce natural salts and bring electrical conductivity to below 0.5 mS/cm for Low EC grade, or retained at Standard EC as required.

Sieving & Grading

Dried cocopeat is sieved through calibrated mesh screens to ensure uniform particle size, removing over-sized fibre and fine dust that would affect drainage performance.

Sun Drying & Moisture Control

Washed cocopeat is spread on drying yards and sun-dried to bring moisture content below 18%. Moisture meters are used to verify each batch before processing.

Precision Compression at 5:1

Cocopeat is filled into UV-stabilized polybags and hydraulically compressed at a 5:1 ratio using automated machinery to produce slabs of exact specified dimensions.

Quality Control & Batch Testing

Each production batch undergoes EC testing, pH measurement, moisture verification, and expansion volume confirmation before palletisation and container loading.

Recommended Crops & Applications

Cocopeat grow bag slabs are best suited for the following crops and cultivation systems:
How to Use:
Lay the slab flat in your greenhouse channel. Cut the top surface to expose the growing medium, insert the drip irrigation stakes, and allow the cocopeat to hydrate fully before transplanting. Each slab expands evenly, providing a consistent rooting environment across the entire growing surface.

Frequently Asked Questions

A cocopeat grow bag slab is a compressed block of washed cocopeat sealed inside a UV-stabilized polybag. When hydrated, it expands to form a flat, rectangular growing medium ideal for hydroponic and greenhouse substrate cultivation. Unlike round grow bags, slabs lie flat in channels and troughs for uniform root distribution.
Cocopeat grow bag slabs are best suited for high-value greenhouse crops including tomatoes, capsicum (bell peppers), cucumbers, aubergine, and strawberry slab cultivation. They are also used for herbs, leafy greens, and soft fruits in commercial poly houses, vertical farms, and trough systems.
Yes. Almighty Coir manufactures cocopeat grow bag slabs to your exact specifications. You can specify length, width, height, EC level, composition blend (100% cocopeat, or 70/30 with cut fibre or coco chips), and packaging options including pre-cut planting holes.
A standard 40ft High Cube container accommodates 20 to 22 pallets, carrying between 5,500 and 7,400 cocopeat grow bag slabs depending on the slab size and pallet configuration. Our logistics team provides a full loading plan with every order confirmation.
Yes. We provide product samples to qualified importers and greenhouse operators before bulk orders are placed. Samples include the relevant quality test reports (EC, pH, moisture) so you can evaluate performance in your system before committing to a container order. Contact our sales team to request samples.
Yes, in many cases. After the first crop cycle, the slab can be sterilised and reused for a second cycle, particularly for crops with lower substrate demand. This reduces substrate cost per crop cycle and is a common practice among experienced greenhouse operators.
Low EC slabs have been triple-washed to reduce electrical conductivity to below 0.5 mS/cm, making them ideal for sensitive crops and systems where growers want complete control over nutrient inputs from the start. Standard EC slabs retain naturally occurring minerals and suit crops or systems that benefit from a higher baseline EC level.
Our Grade AC-3A slab is available in lengths of 50 cm, 90 cm, 100 cm, and 120 cm; widths of 15 cm, 18 cm, and 20 cm; heights of 8 cm, 12 cm, and 15 cm. This gives a volume range of 12 to 30 litres. All dimensions can be customised to match your greenhouse infrastructure.
